Q: Dr. Krieger, you have developed a line of skin care products - how did this come about?

A:  These skin care products, as with any product, came about because of the need for superior skin care solutions which help prevent damage to the skin from the environment and which help improve the appearance of the skin where damage has already occurred.  Unfortunately, there is little that can be done pharmaceutically to reverse existing damage at the microscopic level.  We can, however, improve the appearance of this skin and take steps to prevent further damage.  My skin care line utilizes a combination of natural substances that have powerful antioxidant properties.  Chief among them are green tea polyphenols and Vitamin C. These deactivate free oxygen radicals that can damage skin.

Q: Who would benefit from these products?

A: All age ranges can benefit from this skin care line.  While the specific needs vary with age, the goals of skin care remain the same.  These are to improve the current appearance of the skin and to prevent the development of further damage from exposure to environmental factors.  The most common of these are the effects of UV rays from the sun, the effects of smoking, and the effects of diet and its contribution to your skin’s health. Older patients with existing damage to their skin can see dramatic improvements in the skin’s appearance.  Younger patients may not see the initial dramatic improvements seen in the older population because their skin looks better at the start.  They will, however, see the benefits over time as they maintain their youthful appearance while those around them age at a more rapid rate.

Q: Is there a difference between these products and ones we would buy in the department or drug stores?

A: I believe the real difference lies in the quality of the ingredients used in the production of this innovative skin care line as well as the unique formulation of the active ingredients which maximize it’s beneficial effects.  The feedback I have received from women indicate they like the smooth textures of the creams and serums and their ease of application.  Getting past the biology of why it works, they simply notice their skin looks better fairly quickly and that their makeup applies much more evenly and smoothly  These are real world effects seen and appreciated by those using the products.

Q: What differences would we notice in our skin after using your products?

A: Initial improvement will involve an evening of skin texture and skin tones as the visible signs of aging are reversed.  Long term, one will find that skin will maintain that youthful look showing fewer signs of aging with good skin elasticity, suppleness of texture, and improved hydration.

Q: Where is the Dr. Mitchell Krieger skin care line available in the Washington area?

A: The products are available exclusively through Vendome Spa in Great Falls, Virginia. I expect them to be more broadly available soon as negotiations are underway to market the line elsewhere in the US and overseas through spas and salons.
